HAZELWOOD: SCRAPS TO SOIL- VANESSA CALDERON, JESSICA NIP, LU ZHU

Food for Soil is a collection of educational materials used to demystify and make composting actionable, with the goal of inspiring and engaging Hazelwood to contribute to improving soil health within the community. In the long term, community members will also benefit from an improved environment, healthier produce and plantation grown locally. The collection includes — an information pamphlet, compost bin, reusable stencil, documentation of project and instructions.

If the problem of Everybody’s garden being dysfunctional and unpresentable is a problem of poor maintenance, then we should help improve the situation by providing manpower to maintain the garden throughout the year.

ILLEGAL DUMPING- ERNEST BELLAMY, TINA PARK, SHENGZHI WU

An Initiative to create awareness by harnessing the collective energy of residents. Clean Hazelwood is a residents driven mechanism for reporting illegal dumping simply by sending a photo. The photo would be then 1. uploaded directly to the Clean Hazelwood Twitter account, and 2. be included in the live data visualization map.
